I Had No Idea There Was A Video For This Song

But thanks to the nagic of the internet here it is

This is actually the "noisy mix" that appears on the 12" single (which I recently picked up & have been playing nonstop), although the album version is plenty great too. I remember being OBSESSED with "It's Funky Enough" back in 89, but being that I was 8 years old back then & not allowed to have any rap tapes, I missed out on both the cassingle and the full-length. A few years back I finally got No One Can Do It Better and my mind was subsequently blown. While the whole album is great, I tend to gravitate toward either "It's Funky Enough" or the one whose video is posted above. I also tend to flip flop between one and the other as my favorite, and judging by the video above, you can tell which tune is in the lead as of today.

NEW(ER) HOT CHIP VIDEO

A little while back I wrote about my anticipation for Made in the Dark, the newest album from one of my favorite current musical groups, Hot Chip. I guessed that it might end up being one of the best albums of 2008, and so far it is. Here is (what I believe to be) the second video from that album:

This was not my favorite song on the album by any stretch, but after watching this video, it is becoming just that. And, I tried to embed the pitchfork.tv version of this video because the picture quality was a LOT better. But, it took up so much space on the screen that it blocked my links and such. Oh wellzy.

For those that don't know, the song is "Fancy Footwork", the title track from their excellent 2007 full-length. And, like the "Tenderoni" vid I posted awhile back, this one was uploaded by a random person so hopefully it doesn't get deleted. But, since "Tenderoni" is still around, this one should be fine too.

Nu Shooz

About 2 weeks ago I got these new running shoes

for only $80 (which may sound like a lot of $, but Air Max 360s usually go for about $160. I've only been able to run in them a few times (due to busyness/laziness/etc) and they've been giving me many blisters. Although I think once I break them in a little more I'll be fine. I may or may not wear them at the MEN show tonight at the Grog, since I know it's not a good idea to wear running shoes in everyday life. But anyway, I hope MEN plays this tune tonight since I've had it in my head since I woke up this morning


Speaking of this morning, I actually got my ass out of bed early enough to head over to McDonald's & get a free McSkillet Burrito. Since I had never tried one previously, here is my expert opinion in one word: fine. Not bad, not great. I'm not one to eat a lot in the morning, and I especially tend not to eat food containing taco sauce in early hours.

Went to Music Saves & got some records today, one of which was the 180 gram vinyl reissue of Cat Power's Moon Pix (her best album if you ask me). I'll also say that she's never looked better than she did in the "Cross Bones Style" video:

So the Democratic debate is going on at Cleveland State University as I type this. But, my mind is already made up. I don't need to see & hear Obama & Mrs. Bill Clinton tell me a bunch of bullshit that neither of them will likely follow up on. I'll just base my vote on that age old adage

It's so nice outside today. I actually got an outdoor fun run in yesterday without even having to bundle up! The high temp is supposed to 68 today. Fuck yeah. Get outside! Have fun! Watch this video!

Hot Chip is Back!!!

And I am as well. I haven't posted on this thing in a little while. Real damn life can be a bitch sometimes. Rather than recap everything that happened since 11/09/07, let's watch a video! I can't get enough of this fucking song. I haven't heard the album yet, but if the rest of it is as good as this, one of the 2008 albums of the year might come early. February 5, to be exact. I can't wait.

Speaking of albums of the year, I may or may not post a list of my 2007 albums of the year on here soon. End of year lists are kinda lame, but it's my blog, so fuck it. Don't like it, don't read it. You won't be alone either way.

So, that's that. No lobster dinners since the last post, but I did have a holiday feast or two. And New Year's was good. And I saw a ton of good shows. And...I said I wouldn't recap everything since the last post. So I won't. However, I can guarantee that it won't be months before the next post.
